Food Sensitivity/ Intolerance Testing - 45mins, $60
Kinesiology, using biofeedback, provides a fast, accurate and non-invasive method of identifying those foods etc that cause stress to each person’s digestive (and possibly) immune systems. Kinesiology can also assist in the reduction and removal of symptoms created by food reactions.

In these sessions, a large number of common food sources are tested to identify stress responses from the client’s body.

If you have particular foods or additives that you wish to have checked, you are more than welcome to bring these to the session.

Food Sensitivities

Food allergies and intolerances are often grouped under the single heading of “Food Sensitivities”. Food sensitivities are becoming more endemic within the general population. With the advent of the industrial age and its advances in food storage techniques, which while they have allowed us to drastically improve our living conditions, have also come at a price. The incredible abundance and variety of foods available has allowed us to eat foods that are not natural to our body types, or have allowed us to over consume particular foods to the point where our body says “NO MORE!”. Some modern farming techniques have also influenced the nutritional quality of these foods and increased our exposure to agricultural pesticides , fertilisers and herbicides. The processing of much of the food available today to improve shelf life or lower costs has also introduced a large number of chemical “non-foods” into our diet, such as preservatives, colourings and flavourings, which also place stress on our digestive and immune systems and result in sensitivity reactions.

Food sensitivities can quiet often remain undiagnosed. The recurrent ingestion of the offending food e.g. wheat, can mask or delay the appearance of the symptoms, which then go unrecognized with no cause and effect relationship being identified. It is estimated that 5% of food allergies are immediate (severe to toxic) and 95% are delayed.

When people experience these subtle symptoms for many years, they often blame them on stress, overwork, side effects of medication or other unrelated causes, without considering the possibility that they are instead caused by a food allergy or sensitivity.

For those suffering from Food Allergies or Intolerances, the simple act of identifying and removing those foods and/or chemicals to which they are sensitive from their diet from can make a drastic improvement to their general health.

As mentioned above, food sensitivities are divided into two main categories – Allergies and Intolerances. Allergies create an identifiable immune system response; Intolerances create abnormal responses that do not involve the immune system and include conditions such as Lactose Intolerance, where the body cannot make the correct enzyme for the digestion of Lactose (the sugar found in mammals’ milk). Some common symptoms related to each are listed below. If you suffer from any of these, it is possible you have an unidentified food sensitivity.
